Giorgia Galli is a Gas trader at ACT Group. Working in the Amsterdam office, she has facilitated the connection between natural gas, biogas and biomethane solutions.

''In just one year, I've learned more than I did in ten years of my previous experience.''

What inspired you to do this kind of work? I've always been involved in the energy sector, I began my journey in a risk department back in Milano. I learned a lot there and about twelve years ago, I decided to take a leap of faith and transition into trading myself. More than a decade in trading, is that a life challenge? It really is, I went from experiencing what might be considered the dreariest moments in the market to witnessing some of its biggest highlights. How did that impact your perspective on things? After some years I realized that amidst my focus on financial gains, I had neglected the human aspect of my work, I knew I needed a change. Eventually I came across ACT.

I feel more responsible, more empowered, and more connected to the effect my work has on the world'.

What motivated you to move and to continue your career at ACT? It has been almost two years now that I embarked on this journey. The culture here is different, and I find myself embracing opportunities and responsibilities that I wouldn't have considered before. What impact do you feel your work has on the company’s overall goals and mission? Can you share an example?  I deployed our reach to gas markets in Europe focusing on biogas and biomethane, I have built things with my own style and I am responsible for developping activities in the company that were not there when I arrived. The challenge is real, but the reward is gratifying. Of course building something from scratch involves a lot of work and commitment, but it's also really empowering to contribute personally to a common goal and try to drive environmental services to the next level.

Can you describe a moment when you felt proud to be a part of this company? What happened and why did it make you feel that way? The attitude of the people at ACT is unconventional, the chain of command is unique and collaboration is very easy, people actually work together. At first, I thought ''The project I have is huge'', but my manager always had my back, the colleagues I needed help from would try their best so we could make things happen together. The proudest I felt was to manage this whole project in my own way. I practice yoga for years now and it's the first time I could find similarities in my job and my passion. Overall, I feel super proud I can work with this inner feeling of staying myself.
