Your Role in Our Story:

As the world moves towards a more sustainable future, ACT Commodities capitalizes on this shift. We trade energy efficiency certificates as well as other products on the environmental commodities market. We are a ‘go for gold’ company and we’re looking for those who want to carve their path and make a difference.  As a Senior Risk Analyst you will be part of our global Risk department with a full oversight and control of trading activities across various offices: Amsterdam, Paris, US, Singapore. You will go through a steep learning curve at the end of which you will have an all-round view of Risk at ACT, and later develop your focus in a specific area of expertise. You will get to work in a fast moving, entrepreneurial environment alongside 350+ colleagues from 30+ countries. In essence, your role involves:

  • Analyse business financials, operations and trade cycles to understand business conditions and inherent credit risk.
  • Monitor the existing client portfolio and assess new requests from our traders.
  • Create risk models, and advise traders on their pending deals.
  • Maintain a constant oversight of our market, credit and operational risk.
  • Oversee and control FX risk, hedging, and position limits.
  • Manage contact with our traders, clients, and banks.
  • Perform risk assessments for new business and trading strategies, and liaise with our technology team to define requirements for risk systems.

Your Expertise: 

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes: 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the financial sector or ideally in commodity trading or, with a solid grasp of fundamental business risks, with a total of 10 years profesional experience. 
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or relevant study.
  • Experience with Python or SQL are a plus.
  • Intellectually curious with strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and an affinity for financial markets.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent proficiency in English.
  • Outgoing personality with strong social and presentation skills.
  • Quick thinker, resilient under pressure, and confident in managing stakeholder relationships.
