At ACT Commodities we trade environmental products and help our clients reach their environmental and sustainability objectives through trading products such as carbon offsets, environmental certificates, biofuels and many others. The role

You have significant experience as a product marketing manager and you are passionate to be hands on and build a solid foundation which ensures the success of a new SaaS platform.

Your primary objective for the Product Marketing Manager starts with the creation of the brand’s communication strategy to complement the already existing brand design. During this first period you work as part of the central marketing team of ACT to ensure that the new brand fits within the portfolio of business lines. Further, together with the Global Head of marketing, you will establish the framework and guidelines in which the future product marketing strategy will be created and executed in.

Once this work is completed you will transition into the new SaaS based software business and your objective is to design, implement and own the process of demand creation for our products through creation and execution of an effective online marketing strategy...from beginning to end of the funnel. This will include the creation and monitoring of all the necessary KPIs to ensure our success. Due to your direct contribution and work, the product will have a shorter sales cycle and achieve higher revenue. You are the key contributor to fulfill our business objectives and support us in reaching our ambitious revenue targets.

Throughout these two stages, you will strategize together with the Global Head of Marketing, Managing Director, Principal Product Manager on the brand, platform and product proposition development and drive these initiatives to completion. Your efforts will help take the brand and the products from the earliest strategy sessions all the way to successful market adoption.

Together with the Principal Product Manager who is leading the SaaS platform’s design and roadmap creation, you will be responsible for learning the product’s strategy and value add features, getting to know our customers and user personas, all while developing a solid marketing strategy. This will include the tools and campaigns that we will use to introduce and sell the platform to the market.

 

Key areas of responsibility

  • Market strategy expert: The brand and market strategy you are creating, is the foundation for our success. It is the high-level thinking, planning, and research that happens before our products and platform go to market. You are able and committed to quickly develop an in-depth knowledge of our target markets and how to best introduce the brand and products to the respective markets. Market research and competitive analysis are at the center of your market strategy development process.

 

  • Marketing expert: In conjunction with the global marketing department, your goal is to drive demand and pull our products through to conversion. As a Product Marketing Manager, you know marketing principles and techniques to create a world-class marketing communication sequence that feeds the sales funnel.

 

  • Marketing program guidance: In conjunction with the Principal Product Manager, the Product Marketing Manager outlines the product positioning which clearly articulates the value proposition. You drive the external messaging which links each release and feature to a customer-oriented benefit.

 

  • Supporting sales: While you will own the funnel for our digital marketing efforts and online conversions, you will also support our direct sales efforts which are geared towards large global accounts and distribution partners. To do so effectively, our sales team needs great sales tools and collateral. For example, they need stellar product training, a solid product presentation, and an appealing demonstration. A Product Marketing Manager knows what sales tools salespeople need to get their jobs done and what points to emphasize so that the sales pitch is more successful in each given scenario.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, execute and evolve market segmentation for each SaaS product offering on the platform
  • Responsible for setting up, analyzing and optimizing various paid online channels, which you will identify. With data as a starting point, you know exactly what to adjust to ensure that the channel converts better, and the predefined objectives are achieved.

  • Definition and management of the budget allocated to various online marketing campaigns
  • Analyze sales data and channel information and then create plans to improve product line sales most likely using marketing and sale techniques
  • Create consistent positioning statements, messaging and the associated proof points. This source material is used by marketing to generate public-facing marketing collateral
  • Write and commission compelling content for different collateral types and audiences
  • Create and present information about products and the markets these products serve
  • Together with Product Management, always represent the company and with virtually any audience to explain the customer-led benefits of the platform…don’t sell the product but believe in it
  • You create buyer personas, set up customer journeys and analyze the online search behavior of (potential) customers and create new target groups based on the marketing campaigns and channels that are used.
  • Closely following the latest developments within Google and being able to translate them directly into opportunities. Work in close alignment with all central marketing functions (graphic designed, copy writer) and external agencies

 

Experience

  • >2 years working experience with brand strategy and communication and >3 years working as a Product Marketing Manager, Product Marketeer or similar role
  • Bachelor degree in n Marketing. MBA or additional business training is appreciated
  • Passions for environmental issues and understanding of sustainability concepts, CSR, ESG and related subjects.
  • Demonstrated success in positioning and launching products or services. Focus on platform launches that met and exceed business objectives is a significant plus.
  • Subject matter expertise in the renewable energy, sustainability or financial markets. It is desired that this includes specific industry and/or technical knowledge
  • Deep understanding of how a product is sold and the channels they are sold into
  • Proven stakeholder management track record such as the ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority. The ability to influence and work collaboratively with sales, marketing and Product Management is especially important
  • You have created and implemented highly efficient SEA and SEO strategy for the business. Hands on experience in this field is highly desired. These campaigns have created traffic to highly effective landing pages that achieved impressive conversion results.
  • Creation of dashboards to monitor all relevant KPIs that needs to be established to assess marketing performance
